Graphs and results from questionnaire

Analysis

From our questionnaire results we were able to get information on how we could make our ideas for our horror trailer better. We used a few different ways to approach collecting our results primarily on SurveyMonkey and then sharing them to friends by sending them a link via email or social media. We tried to get a even amount of boys and girls to answer our questionnaire. We had most responses from ages 24 and below as we felt that horror is more popular to these ages however without being bias also asked people of various other ages as well. We also asked a pretty much even amount of boys to girls  again to not be bias against a certain sex and were able to get nearly 50/50 boy to girl ratio.

Comedy has proven to be the most popular film genre, however horror was the joint second most popular as well as action. 50% of our audience put down horror being a favourite genre therefore we realise its popular and there is a scope in the market for one to be made for our target audience.

Next we asked if they agree with the statement of 'I find most films that i have watched, i have watched due to seeing its film trailer' Half of the audience stated that they agree with this stated meant which shows to us that effective trailers really do make a impact on whether people see the film.

We asked what horror sub-genre was their most favourite, Nearly 50% chose psychological followed by paranormal, monster, gore and then killer. From this we learnt that we may change our sub-genre to fit our target audience. There is a slight psychological side to our film synopsis however and i feel that we could make this more prominent however and make it more of a mixed gore and psychological sub genre.

We asked our respondents if they were likely to go see a film if it was named the scariest film of all time.  Almost half of them put 'possibly', this suggests that more that one statement would be needed to influence people to want to go see a film. However, the rest of the respondents were divided between being 'likely/definitely' and 'not likely, defiantly not' with the majority being more positive towards the idea. This shows how our respondents are very split up about the horror genre, but that there are well over half who would consider a good scary film.

We posted our synopsis for 'eyes' on the the questionnaire and asked for the respondents to  write their opinions.  Many positive response pointed out the 'twisted and unexpected ending' and the 'gripping, interesting plot'. Some more negative responses suggested that it needed more subplots and detailed it as being a 'cliche for a teen flick'. We have learnt and discussed these negative points however think only having 300 words there was little scope to play with for more subplots.  When writing the full plot there will be a lot more depth however.
The final question asked the respondents how likely it would be that they go see this movie. The majority choosing likely, this shows a positive outlook for pursuing the producing of the movie.
